Hitting menopause (or coming out of the other side of it), can provide a unique opportunity to re-define what’s most important to us and what we want from our ‘third act.’ It’s no surprise then, that so many women in midlife are looking to free themselves from the shackles of ‘the big job’ and instead work for themselves, on their own terms.

But what are those ‘terms’ and how can you make sure you stay true to them? Over the last 30+ years as a marketing and brand consultant, I’ve seen many women break free from the daily grind to pursue their dream business, side hustle or social enterprise in midlife/later life, only to find they are working more hours than ever before, with more stress, and even less time for the other things in life that drove them to set up in the first place! And don’t get me started about being sucked into the time-gobbling, energy-sapping hell hole that is social media!

How I can help

I will help you focus on what’s most important to you, and what you want your ‘third act’ to look and feel like (and what you DON’T!), and then help you build a highly-targeted brand and marketing strategy around THAT.

Specifically, we will work together over an intensive three months to:

Get clear on your priority business goals (including financial targets for each quarter), which also take into consideration your ‘why’, your business ‘why?’ and your potential ‘why nots!’

Get clear on your core purpose - personal AND professional. Learn how to articulate a clear ‘why’, clear values, an elevator pitch and origin story that also reflect what YOU need from your work and life (financially AND emotionally). 

Define/redefine your offer with your ‘marketing hat on’ through deep dive research into your ‘competition’, potential influencers and other models and partners working in your space.

Get clarity over your demons, threats, weaknesses that may get in the way of achieving your business goals this year and a plan for overcoming these/what support you may need to plug any gaps.

Get clear on your who your target tribes are going forward and what they actually want (then revise 2 and 3). 

Map out a customer journey of your ideal customer’s experience and identify key touchpoint opportunities and marketing materials required at each touchpoint.

Create a strategic and detailed marketing and content plan that aligns your why and values with the tribes most likely to care. Your plan will include your content pillars and content brief, what core materials needed by when, weekly content, social media focussing on the right platforms, PR pitches (PRIORITY FOR SCALING), campaigns and tactics, events plan mapped out against key activities - TTTW, members events, academies for the year.

Carry out a brand audit of how your current brand measures up and what areas you need to prioritise first.

Create a brand brief for a designer if I get money for a do-over, brief for core materials and what help I need (or so I’ve got a clear roadmap of what to change for myself, what marketing assets/merch I need to create, in what priority order).

Create a content brief so I can commission other writers for TTTW and brief volunteers/crone correspondents.
