UNLEASH YOUR INNER CRONE!

CRONE CLUB - A joyful movement for women in midlife and beyond who refuse to disappear.

EMBRACE Your THIRD ACT WITH A NEW IDENTITY AND SISTERS WHO ‘GET IT’.

Tired of being made to feal fearful about menopause and getting older? Crone Club is for women of a certain (r)age in their third act of life. We want to make menopause and getting older as a woman, a club that women feel don’t feel shit joining!

Crone Club is a global (and Sheffield) sisterhood where we laugh, rage, connect, share, inspire, learn, cheer each other on, and re-remember who we are becoming now.

Not invisible.
Not irrelevant.
Not finished.

Just getting started in our ‘third act’.

Think of it as Training for Ageing™️ with plenty of swearing.

“i’ve joined because i’m done with disappearing, from mirroRs, from history, from expectation. i want to keep lifting, learning and laUghing with women who know what it means to hold it all: grieF, beauty, defiance and humour.”

✅ you feel like something in you is shifting

✅ you’re done shrinking yourself to fit other people’s expectations

✅ you’ve had enough of menopause doom scrolling

✅ you want real connection with like-minded women who “get it”

✅ you’re craving more laughter, honesty, joy and aliveness

✅ you want to feel part of something bigger than the grind of your day-to-day life.

Crone Club is NOT a wellness trend or a place to fix yourself. Being a Crone is not about beating ourselves up. We’ve spent our first two acts doing that.

Becoming a Crone is about finally becoming yourself, (and having fun with like-minded sisters doing it!)

CRONE CLUB IS FOR YOU IF…

WHY ‘CRONE?"‘

Five years ago we set out to reclaim the word ‘Crone’ as a positive identity for our Third Act. At the time it was the most insulting word for an older woman we could find. The Oxford Dictionary definition said was it derived from ‘carion’ - literally meaning rotting meat!

Thankfully, others had a similar mission to reclaim ‘crone’ and other derogatary terms for older women. We are proud to be part of a movement which is redefining ‘crone’ to mean ‘cronus’ (derived from ‘time’) and also ‘crown’ to represent the wisdom and experience that can come for women in later life.

THE CRONE CLUB MANIFESTO

  • We refuse to disappear.

  • We unapologetically take up space.

  • We learn to give zero fucks.

  • We speak honestly, but always with kindness.

  • We laugh until wee comes out.

  • We prioritise our own crone needs, often for the first time.

  • We considerately cheer each other on and do what we can to support the crone sisterhood.

  • We work towards building a thriving crone economy.

  • We are endlessly curious.

  • We finally come home to ourselves.

Crone Events & Meets FEEDBACK👇🏽

  • “In a world where older women are at best ignored, at worst, reviled, walking into a venue where age isn’t a badge of shame but cause for celebration feels radical, empowering and joyful. This was a unique event. Beautifully held and curated. It felt like coming home.”

—Attendee at Crone Club Menopause Afternoon Disco ‘CroneLines’ 2025

  • “It’s so great to have a space to spend time with women in a similar stage of life. To remind ourselves that we are full and powerful participants in this life and to remember the struggles that have enabled us to become who we are. It’s fun and also encouraging and gives a boost to get back out there into the fray of work, family, community and ageing!”

—Crone Club Member and attendee at CroneLines 2025

  • “You’ve got to love an event where when you say you can’t stay on into the evening because you don’t drive in the dark, everyone just nods with recognition and empathy.”

—Cathi Rae Instagram Poet and Age advocate

  • “What an event! It was completely magnificent. The sheer joy of dancing with women to music made by women, celebrating the wonder of being women was just mind-blowingly brilliant. I loved every minute."

    Attendee at CroneLines 2025

  • "It was delightful to see such collective happiness, openness, and admiration for each other; everyone comfortable in their own skin - and in their own shoes, not a pair of high heels in sight! Fabulous. I wanted every woman I love to be part of it - so next year we're definitely gonna need a bigger room!!"

CroneLines 2025 attendee at the menopause rave.

  • "A wonderful bit of respite from the world, a way to experience new things and a chance to have it confirmed that growing older aint what it used to be!"

    Crone Club Member

  • "Just walking in and though I knew nobody, I knew I’d found my tribe of powerful fun beautiful women. I welled up!"

New Crone Club Member on her first event.

  • "I think the fact that lots of women came on their own says it all. I was with a couple of friends but if they hadn't been there I would have enjoyed myself just as much. And it's so important that as we age we're able to go on having FUN! And that women can meet together in a completely supportive environment, free of politics, trolling, and the intense faction fighting that I remember from womens' groups I've had involvement with in the past - and which is still very evident."

    Crone Club Member

  • "Because women like us need to not fade into the background anymore than we did when we were young women, holding our space and shaping our world. It's lonely to keep pushing on your own."

    Crone Club Member

  • "So so vital for women at what can be a challenging time to feel empowered and have a strong voice to drown out patriarchal and marketing ideas of what older women are. We are FAR from invisible!"

    Crone Club Member

  • "I laughed and laughed. Felt so 'seen' and validated.”

    Crone Club Member

  • "I've made more friends today than I have in four years of living in Sheffield."

CroneLines attendee (Now Crone Club Member)

  • “It was brilliant dipping outside and seeing the young men driving past, with their jaws on their chest in disbelief at such a large noisy gathering of delightedly happy, chatty, dancing women - of a certain age!! Really - you pulled a blinder.”

    Crone Club Member

  • "it was a fab afternoon, hats off to you for bringing together all those inspiring women. I kept looking round the room and was in awe at the talent, knowledge, expertise and experience of the women there- and that’s just the ones I know. Just what I needed to see at this point!"

    Crone Club Member

  • “I realised how rarely I’m in a public space where there are so many women my age and older… in a space where all the performers were older too… quite often, I’m the oldest person on the stage, but yesterday, I felt amongst my tribe… a beacon of light in a world that says at our age we should be quiet and take up less space. And a huge thanks to possibly the nicest audience I’ve ever had… so many of you bought books and supported an older creative.” @cathi_rae insta body positive model and age positive writer. "

  • "It made me feel completely exposed and 'seen' but also fiercely cherished. Just so good for the soul!"

    Crone Club Member

  • "Thank you soooo much for a magical, alchemical empowering experience last weekend! Aside from the tequila shots, my twerking and general mischief it was a truly beautiful and soul nourishing experience.”

    CroneLines attendee 2025

  • "I really see how powerful it is for wise menopausal women to hear their own voice and feel validated, strong and empowered. I feel it’s a voice that needs to shout louder above the voices of the patriarchy and the marketeers keeping us down and using menopause as a fearmongering marketing opportunity to sell youth and ‘stuff’. Instead, the quiet voice I know in myself was amplified in that room by other crones to a roaring crescendo of confidence and wild liberation. Leaving me with a quiet reinforced power of the tribe that I carry in my being and will be dishing out liberally to other crones to hold up and empower.. it’s infectious!"

    Attendee at CroneLines 2025

  • "Great to see such a stylish older woman, defying stereotypes."

    CroneLines attendee 2025

  • “fancy deciding when you're 60 to embark on battle rap for the first time! Love how she is completely herself in a genre where you would not expect to find an older woman."

The generation gap is an important tool for any repressive society.

We find ourselves having to repeat and relearn the same old lessons over and over that our mothers did because we did not pass on what we have learned, or because we are unable to listen.
