CRONE CLUB

A joyful movement for women in midlife and beyond who refuse to disappear.

EMBRACE Your THIRD ACT WITH A NEW IDENTITY - KICK ASS CRONE.

Crone Club is for women of a certain (r)age in their third act of life. A stage that is not about doomscrolling, but a waking up.

Crone Club is a global (and Sheffield) sisterhood where we gather to laugh, rage, connect, share, inspire, learn, cheer each other on, and re-remember who we are becoming now.

Not invisible.
Not irrelevant.
Not finished.

Just getting started in our ‘third act’.

CRONE CLUB IS FOR YOU IF…

✅ you feel like something in you is shifting

✅ you’re done shrinking yourself to fit other people’s expectations

✅ you’ve had enough of menopause doom scrolling

✅ you want real connection with like-minded women who “get it”

✅ you’re craving more laughter, honesty, joy and aliveness

✅ you want to feel part of something bigger than the grind of your day-to-day life.

Crone Club is NOT a wellness trend or a place to fix yourself. Being a Crone is not about beating ourselves up. We’ve spent our first two acts doing that.

Becoming a Crone is about finally becoming yourself, (and having fun with like-minded sisters doing it!)

WHY ‘CRONE?"‘

Five years ago we set out to reclaim the word ‘Crone’ as a positive identity for our Third Act. At the time it was the most insulting word for an older woman we could find. The Oxford Dictionary definition said was it derived from ‘carion’ - literally meaning rotting meat!

Thankfully, others had a similar mission to reclaim ‘crone’ and other derogatary terms for older women. We are proud to be part of a movement which is redefining ‘crone’ to mean ‘cronus’ (derived from ‘time’) and also ‘crown’ to represent the wisdom and experience that can come for women in later life.

THE CRONE CLUB MANIFESTO

  • We refuse to disappear.

  • We unapologetically take up space.

  • We learn to give zero fucks.

  • We speak honestly, but always with kindness.

  • We laugh until wee comes out.

  • We prioritise our own crone needs, often for the first time.

  • We considerately cheer each other on and do what we can to support the crone sisterhood.

  • We work towards building a thriving crone economy.

  • We are endlessly curious.

  • We finally come home to ourselves.

What People Are Saying

“In a world where older women are at best ignored, at worst, reviled, walking into a venue where age isn’t a badge of shame but cause for celebration feels radical, empowering and joyful. This was a unique event. Beautifully held and curated. It felt like coming home.”

“It’s so great to have a space to spend time with women in a similar stage of life. To remind ourselves that we are full and powerful participants in this life and to remember the struggles that have enabled us to become who we are. It’s fun and also encouraging and gives a boost to get back out there into the fray of work, family, community and ageing!”

“Thank you for that inspirational interview in Tits to the Wind. I feel we need more intergenerational conversations like this to really frame out understanding of the world today. There is so much we can learn from our past to inform the challenges of today.”

The generation gap is an important tool for any repressive society.

We find ourselves having to repeat and relearn the same old lessons over and over that our mothers did because we did not pass on what we have learned, or because we are unable to listen.
